The Human Resources and Learning team within the Shared Services department addresses the various needs of the organization by efficiently and effectively delivering HR services, nurturing diverse talent for the company's long-term success.

About the Role


Use of this job is restricted to Chief Admin Office business line. Performs specialized human resources related functions in either a service center or human resource department environment. Involves contacts throughout the company and exposure to sensitive information using considerable use of tact and discretion. Researches, reviews, analyzes, and recommends actions from various specialized personnel reports. May utilize a personal computer to prepare detailed and confidential reports. May assist in the development, implementation, and administration of company personnel policies, procedures, and programs. Coordinates a variety of projects. Provides policy interpretation. Typically the highest nonexempt job within human resources.


Responsibilities:


The payroll analyst will maintain complete and accurate record of payroll information in support of internal reports, payroll preparation and distribution by using PeopleSoft and other online panels, and directly entering data from input forms

  • Answers questions from team members and managers regarding payroll inquiries, records, deductions, and procedures

  • Follows standard operations and controls, and determines compliance with policy and/or law; may apply and/or recommend corrective actions with guidance from senior team members; may help draft standard operating procedures

  • Identifies and supports resolution of payroll regulatory risks by applying understanding of current industry practices

  • Analyzes, reviews, and resolves routine-to-moderately complex data and transaction changes, and/or exceptions in area of focus with small to moderate legal compliance consequences, and impact on operations and resources


Market Skills and Certifications


Essential Qualifications

  • College graduate. Bachelor's degree, any field

  • 4-6 years of payroll or human resources experience, clerical or customer service experience, or a combination of both.

  • Requires a working knowledge of some aspect of an HR function, and an understanding of US Payroll policies and procedures

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal), and able to build strong relationships with internal and external clients

  • High capacity for managing multiple tasks at one time

  • Ability to effectively manage high volume administrative tasks, data entry and high accuracy

  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality

  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Outlook tools, Excel and basic reporting tools

  • Ability to correspond with customers, responding to their questions and concerns with detailed information

  • Ability to navigate multiple computer system windows, applications, and utilize search tools to find information

  • Solid problem solving skills

  • Knowledge of HR systems/Payroll systems (Workday, PeopleSoft, Oracle, Kenexa) is desirable

  • Ability to work in a complex matrix environment, encompassing a broad mix of cultures and client groups

  • Amenable to work on a night shift
