SES Water supplies 160 million litres of fresh water to over 735,000 people across Kent, Surrey and South London every day.

With a rich history dating back to the mid-19th century, we began by supplying water to individual parishes before merging and expanding throughout the next 150 years until today. We now maintain over 2,000 miles of water mains and manage eight treatment works, 23 pumping stations and 31 reservoirs and water towers.

The role:

  • Salary of up to £32,000 DOE
  • Up to 10% employer contribution towards Aviva's Group Personal Pension Plan
  • Free on-site parking or in local area
  • Working hours: 12 hour (continuous) shift rota, to be discussed in more detail at interview
  • Overtime available

As a Control Room Operator, you will be responsible for monitoring operations at sites we manage from our Redhill Control Room.

Handling issues that occur outside of normal business hours, you will respond to various alarms from treatment works and company sites including intruder and fire alarms.

You will respond to telephone calls from customers, providing excellent levels of service and co-ordinating planned and emergency responses to issues.

Additionally, you will:

  • Monitor the SCADA system
  • Monitor the telephone, private business radio system and CCTV surveillance system
  • Frequent contact with customers, developers, authorities and employees of all levels, passing messages and providing advice.
  • Record complaints and enquiries on the Customer Contact and Billing System. (inc Oneserve)
  • Call out Network, Production and emergency staff
  • Raise emergency jobs and obtain Utility Drawings and issue electronically to Contracts Gangs

Previous control room experience would be advantageous to your application, as would previous experience of shift work.
